Line dance instructor Joe Johnson christens the Cesar Chavez Performing Arts Studio during an open house of the newly-inaugurated Quinn Community Center in Maywood. The project to revitalize the parish's former school building was undertaken by Pastor Carmelo Mendez, naming the center for former St. Eulalia Pastor William Quinn. Quinn made a lasting history for himself as a pioneer for social justice, both in the fields of civil rights, along with those of immigrants in the U.S. He died in 2004.
