Rogelio Diaz and Noemi Hernandez portray the biblical Joseph and Virgin Mary while leading immigration reform activists during a Posada. The traditional Mexican procession symbolizes a search for shelter, hope, and justice. The procession began at the Broadview Detention Center in Broadview, Il, where illegal immigrants are deported to their country of origin. The location symbolizes the need for human dignity for all immigrants...The group then heads north on 25th Avenue to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Melrose Park, where a celebration and liturgy takes take place including a Christmas Shepherd's Play re-enacting God's miraculous intervention into a fallen world through the birth of Jesus Christ.
