Info

Youth group members from St. Aloysius and surrounding parishes are assembling a cross that will represent the Chicago Archdiocese when they travel to Madrid, Spain to attend World Youth Day (WYD) in August. Conceived by Aloysius Pastor Nick Desmond (L), the cross is modeled after the "Pilgrimage Cross" offered to Catholic youth by Pope John Paul II, who began WYD in 1985. Fr. Desmond and parishioner Patrick Murphy (R) fashioned wood salvaged from the pews of Murphy's St. Cornelius Parish with the help of cratftman Mike Mullen.
