Patrick Murphy works on a cross that he is helping youth group members from St. Aloysius and surrounding parishes to assemble. The final product will represent the Chicago Archdiocese when the group attends World Youth Day (WYD) in Madrid, Spain in August. The cross is modeled after the "Pilgrimage Cross" offered to Catholic youth by Pope John Paul II, who began WYD in 1985. Aloysius's cross is fashioned from salvaged pews from nearby St. Cornelius Parish.
